After the success I had making my first ever gingerbread house last Christmas (HERE) I thought I should have another try. So, here is my Easter Gingerbread House. Or rather village.
As the children were having an Easter parade at school I thought it would be a good idea to make some mini gingerbread houses so they could each take one in to school. I made one too. You will easily detect my house. It is the only one that is not totally covered in jelly beans and mini eggs. Although I am now regretting it, and it’s lack of embellishments. Next time , I am going gaudy!
It was lucky that I did make an extra house as my 5yo boy came back with a completely deconstructed house. He had dropped it on the way out to the parade and was so disappointed I had to give him mine.
The little village was a joy to make and simple to bake but I did employ Mr.Scott again for engineering purposes and exact measuring of the component parts. I used THIS recipe which gave me enough gingerbread to make lots of gingerbread men as well as Egg shaped biscuits AND I also put some in the freezer.
I hope you have a go at making a gingerbread house. It really is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an afternoon with all the family pitching in to glue, decorate, embellish and get creative.
Wishing you all a very very
