Are you a food, film, photography or music talent of the future? Yes? Then read on.
Launching People is a brand new mentorship programme that is searching for British talent in food, music, film and photography. The creative industries are notoriously hard to break into. There is talent aplenty out there. I have seen it for myself. But getting that talent to become a reality is the biggest challenge of all. Being recognised and noticed for something that you do is something we all dream of. Now here is a chance for you not only to get noticed but to make a success within your chosen creative field.
Here’s how it works:
There is one mentor per category. Food, Music, Film, Photography. You could team up with one of the 4 mentors, a talented gang of experts in their field, and Samsung’s best technology to get your idea to come to life. Taking part in this documentary series could launch your career. Are you ready?
Here is a video explaining what Launching People is all about.
Who are the mentors?
Food – Gizzi Erskine. Gifted cook, food writer at The Sunday Times, cook book author with excellent fashion sense.
Music – Paloma Faith. Incredible voice, talented singer/songwriter, style icon with a glorious mane of red hair.
Film – Idris Elba. One of the best British actors around. The Wire & Luther. If you haven’t seen them yet, you need to.
Photography – Rankin. A British fashion and portrait photographer of great distinction.
Here Gizzi defines what she is looking for in her food mentee.
Gizzi explains “What you need to stand out is a serious passion for the food industry”. Launching People is all about “giving someone a head start, you don’t have to be conventional”
Gizzi is ” looking for someone who is totally happy to break the rules and maybe even teach her a thing or two” in the process. “A simple idea can be the best, for sure. But also, a simple idea with a bit of glitter on it is far more exciting”
This project is somebody’s chance, maybe yours, to get a big break. It is about helping to launch someone truly talented. It’s about “giving them a head start” as Gizzi mentions in her video clip.
